Karma is one of the oldest religious/spiritual concepts in the world.

Long before Christianity or Judaism, the concept of karma was widely accepted in the east.

And why not?

It makes sense.

The belief that past actions influence fate in the present day seems fairly logical.

But what are the rules of karma, and how do they effect us?

You Get what You Give

“As you sow, so shall you reap”.

– The universe always gives back what we give.

– If what we want is happiness, peace, love… then we should BE happy, peaceful, and loving.

Humility

What you refuse to accept, will continue for you.

– If what we see is an enemy, or someone with a character trait that we find to be negative, then we ourselves are not focused on a higher level of existence.

Growth

“Wherever you go, there you are”.

– For us to GROW in Spirit, we must change – and not the people, places, or things around us.

– When we change who and what we are within our heart our life follows suit and changes too.

Responsibility

Not everything is a matter of forces acting outside our control. Many times, we create our own reality.

– We mirror what surrounds us – and what surrounds us, mirrors us.

– We have to take responsibility what is in our life.

Connection

The smallest thing we do is connected to the largest things we do. Everything is interrelated.

– Neither the first step nor the last are of greater significance when completing a task, as they are both needed.

– Past, present, and future are all connected.

Focus

You can not think of two things at the same time.

– When our focus is on spiritual values, it’s impossible to have lower thoughts such as greed or anger.

– This brings more rewarding circumstances in our lives.

Here and Now

Looking backward to examine what was prevents us from being totally in the here and now.

– Old thoughts, old patterns of behavior, old dreams prevent us from having new ones.

Change

Life repeats itself until we’re ready to accept the lessons we need to learn.

Patience and Reward

Everything that’s worth it requires some work.

– Rewards come after we’ve exercised our patience- not before. So don’t be afraid to wait.

Significance and Inspiration

Whatever you put into something, you get out.

– The true value of something is a direct result of the energy and intent that is put into it.

– Loving contributions bring life to, and inspire, the whole of whatever you’re creating.
